Absence makes the heart grow fonder

Detox. Sayonara vino! Today marks the first day of the final countdown to the Wine Country half marathon. Ironically enough, in the final days of preparation, I’ve decided to try something new. My wine glass is hung, the bottle opener has nestled itself into my kitchen drawer, and the dust is beginning to settle on my wine club selections of the month.

As I poured the few remaining drops of pre-race cab sav into my wine glass last night, a tiny but firm voice came to my ears.

“No more, Aunt Molly. No more wine until you run!”

So to my ever supportive Team Molly Captain, Mikey - thanks for laying the hammer down, kiddo.
